The Worship Atmosphere
When you enter the worship center you will notice that it has a contemporary yet personable design. You will find comfortable chairs that have been spaced so you can easily find a place to sit. We know how awkward it can be crawling over people to get a seat, so we have spaced the rows far enough apart to make it easy to move to any seat on the row.
You will also meet friendly people who will make you feel right at home from the start. You will also see most of the people dress business casual. The atmosphere is enthusaistic and anticipatory. We come desiring and expecting to meet God in a personal way during our worship.
The Worship Style
We believe that worship is more than just a time to come listen to a sermon and sing some songs on Sunday morning. Worship is an exciting and enthusiastic time. Our worship on Sunday morning is a time for the church to gather and rejoice in the things that the Lord has done for us. It is a time of happiness and joy overflowing from our hearts. We have a pastor who is committed to the furthering of God's Kingdom. He demonstrates this through the passion with which he preaches the Word of God on a weekly basis. Our worship style is reverent, but relaxed. The Spirit of God has the freedom to move in our services in order to touch the hearts of those present. Visitors are welcome to feel at home here at Westside Church.
The Worship Music
The musical aspect of our worship is Praise Team led. Our theme this year in worship is to "Let the praises ring," and we try our best to do just that. The congregation is encouraged to sing their songs to the Lord, because He is our audience for worship. We sing a combination of praise choruses and updated hymns. We sing songs that you might hear on Christian radio. Some of the songs that we sing are by artists such as Chris Tomlin, Charlie Hall, Matt Redman, Michael W. Smith, Lincoln Brewster, and Lynn Deshazo just to name a few. Our musical style is one that is easily accessible and fun to be involved in. You should find it easy to become a part of the musical worship that takes place every Sunday morning.
The Worship Message
We believe that an integral part of worship is the proclamation of God's Word. Therefore, we are committed to the clear, relevant, and practical preaching of God's Word in our worship times. Dr. Stewart's goal is to open up the Word of God to you in such a way that the voice of God is heard, the glory of God is seen, and the will of God is obeyed. He will give you the truth of God's Word in a way that is practical and relevant for your life.
